‘Confine Writing’ is a process that I came up with one day and decided to experiment with. I load all of my recording gear and instruments into my bedroom, and there I remain for the entire duration (save bathroom breaks/sanity walks) to write a collection of songs from scratch.

For me, the process serves two purposes. The first is artistic momentum – creating ideas, learning from them, and building upon them for days straight without distraction. The second is imminence – Before starting this process, I always makes a point to not only announce it publicly, but promise a finished collection of songs within the week.

These are the principles upon which I created TheLife and This Sickness. It’s scary as shit. But so far, it’s worked, so I’ve learned to trust it.
